Early Joseon Black-Glazed Flat Bottle

A flat bottle, paddled from both sides out of a round form. Black glaze runs down over the whole body, and around the foot the bare clay shows through, playing against the dark surface.

In the light, tiny dimples rise under the glaze like stars. Among the full-moon white flat bottles, this one alone is a dark moon.
