Pierre Jeanneret X-Leg Desk, Chandigarh

피에르 잔느레 X-레그 데스크

A teak desk designed in the 1950s by Pierre Jeanneret — who built the new city of Chandigarh with Le Corbusier — for its administrative offices. X-crossed legs and a cabinet on one side: a desk where structure itself becomes the form.

This habit of showing the bare frame without ornament is strikingly close to the grammar of the Joseon scholar's room. Set beside a seoan writing table or a bookcase, it belongs like family across continents and centuries — chosen precisely to stand alongside Korean antiques.
